Faculty Tenure & Promotions for Fall ’23

Several engineering faculty at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering were promoted or granted tenure this year.

These changes took effect now, at the start of the Fall 2023 semester. Join us in congratulating these deserving instructors and researchers, all of whom are jointly appointed at both Florida A&M and Florida State universities as part of their affiliation with our joint college.


Stephen Hugo Arce, Ph.D.

Arce was promoted to Teaching Faculty III in the Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering. 

Wei Guo, Ph.D.

Guo was promoted to Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. 

Fumitake Kametani, Ph.D.

Kametani was granted tenure in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Yan Li, Ph.D.

Li was promoted to Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering.

Shayne McConomy, Ph.D.

McConomy was promoted to Teaching Faculty II in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Chiwoo Park, Ph.D.

Park was promoted to Professor in the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering.

Jin-Gyu Park, Ph.D.

Park was promoted to Senior Research Associate in the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering.

Kourosh Shoele, Ph.D.

Shoele was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Neda Yaghoobian, Ph.D.

Yaghoobian was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
