    Engelhard wants a means of keeping track of the operation of the two evaporator units over time. This monitoring system will make it easier to identify how changes in the motive steam or load steam will effect the steam economy. If the steam economy changes without a change in input, then there is an interal problem within certain areas of the units. The monitoring system will also easily allow comparison of data, collected from different periods of time. Excel sheets are desired because data and results can be organized in a manner that makes it easy to access and modify. Excel is a very common software, which is already in use at the company. User will not need special training to operate the excel spreedsheet, an operation manual is also included in the appendix, and the expense of acquiring new software is avoided. Excel also makes it easy to transfer files (i.e. via disks, e-mail, network).
