Chase Sapp

Team Leader

Chase is a senior studying Electrical Engineering at Florida State University. He has a variety of interests including power systems, renewable energy, as well as automation and robotics. Upon graduation he plans to pursue opportunities in robotics and automation.

Kyle Voycheske

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Kyle Voycheske is a senior earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Kyle serves as the lead mechanical engineer on the IEEE Southeastcon hardware competition senior design project. The duties involved in this is CAD modeling, force analysis, prototyping, and general design. Previously Kyle has built and programmed a remote-controlled robot to carry a camera and is capable of learning and repeating new routes to assist with stop motion animation. Has had experience with modeling and implementing obstacle detection and avoidance. Has completed an advanced mechatronics course, and is currently working on a collaborative project with the FSU Art Department to create an interactive sculpture for children.

Chendong Yuan

Lead Control Systems Engineer and Financial Advisor

Chendong Yuan is the lead control systems engineer for the Southeast Con project. He is interested in control systems because he likes to control the robot to be with less error and act perfectly. Chendong Yuan attended several courses about control systems and dynamic systems, he has also built some models that were controlled with a PID controller.

Fabio Trinidad

Lead Electrical Engineer

Fabio Trinidad is a computer engineering student who is fascinated in working in the area of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and therefore, was fascinated with development of a completely autonomous robot that was capable of completing various tasks on its own. With prior experience with small projects that deal with machine learning, the Southeast Con Robotics project was a fitting area for him, as this will allow him to use what he has learned from previous projects and further to improve his knowledge of developing code that would allow for the robot to complete all given task without human interaction.

Daniel Delgado

Lead Software Engineer

Daniel Delgado is the lead software engineer for the Southeast Con project. He was a perfect fit for the team because of his past experiences with hardware/software implementation on PCB devices, participation at the FAMU-FSU COE Hackathon, and personal hobby of assembling/ repairing analog effects pedals. With a internship at Innovatech, he was able to manually assemble PCB boards from scratch and would later create and upload various software onto it. While at a recent Hackathon, he was able to attend various seminars that introduced topics on machine learning and artificial intelligence which would be helpful in the object recognition aspect of the competition.
