Bios

Derek Swenson

Derek Swenson

Derek is a senior at the Famu-Fsu College of Engineering studying Computer Engineering and minoring in Computer Science and Math. He is the teams Webmaster and is serving as a software engineer, working integration of sensors and autonomous functionallity of the vehicle. After graduation, Derek hopes to obtain a job in software or applications engineering.

Nicholas Stiles

Nicholas Stiles

Nicholas is a senior at the Famu-Fsu College of Engineering studying Computer Engineering and minoring in Physics. He is serving as a software engineer for the team, working on integration of sensors with the Nvidia Jetson TX2 in order to form an internal map and create a pathfinder algorithm.

Steven Roy

Steven Roy

Steven is a senior at the Famu-Fsu College of Engineering studying Mechanical Engineering. He is serving as one the teams mechanical engineers, working to design physical components that will support the on-board electronics, and he is helping to design the PID controller.

Cody Vanderpool

Cody Vanderpool

Cody Vanderpool is a senior mechanical engineering student at Florida State University. He is interested in the aerospace industry, thermal fluids, and control systems. As The Project Manager he responsible for the logistics of the project such as delegating tasks to the team, keeping the project on schedule, and maintaining accountability of completed tasks. He is also responsible for scheduling meetings and communication with the project sponsor and advisor. In addition to these responsibilities, he has contributed to the mechanical design of custom vehicle components, optimizing its weight distribution, and designing the control systems used in the autonomous vehicles decision making.

Michael Calisi

Michael Calisi

Michael is a senior at the Famu-Fsu College of Engineering studying Electrical Engineering. He is serving as the teams electrical engineer and is working to develop the systems power board and will assist in integrating the sensors to the NVIDIA Jetson TX2.
