Group 13 Needs Assessment

This deliverable was geared to establish a firm understanding of the background of the project. Once the background was defined then the necessary need statement as well as a goal statement was established. Taking these statements that were generated, it was important to define the constraints to the project. Lastly, a rough estimate was generated on the method that group 13 will proceed in to complete the assignment.

Group 13 Project Plan and Specifications

Realizing the needs and constraints that were determined in the last report, it was important to determine the major objectives of the project. These objectives then led to the determination of the design specification, as well as the performance specifications. After those values were generated a schedule was generated with resource allocation in mind. Lastly, a Gantt chart was created in order to stay on schedule, and ultimately to complete the project on time.

Group 13 Midterm Report I

At this point in the project the problem was well defined as well as the constraints. It became more apparent that the project needed to be broken up into sections using a functional analysis. In this functional analysis it was determined that our project had 5 major sections load generation, load application, linear motion for the free-end loading, sensors , and the housing of the device. Upon separating these components, which were assumed to be independent of each other, three full designs were created utilizing different components. These three designs were then compared using a decision matrix for each of the 5 sections. In these decision matrices each optimal component was selected, and a final design was pieced together using those optimal components.

Group 13 Semester I Poster

The purpose of this poster was to convey the need for this project. Also it stated how group 13 had selected the optimum components for the Tabletop Torsion Device. Taking this information, group 13 then compiled these components into constructing an optimal assembly. After the assembly was presented a budget was presented followed by future tasks for completing the machine.

Group 13 Fall Final Report

This report summarized the entire work that was completed in the fall semester. This included defining the problem, setting goals, and ultimately defining the final concept for the Tabletop Torsion Device.

Group 13 Restated Project Scope

Upon starting the spring semester it was important to re-evaluate the project, most importantly the scope and need statement. This report discussed the final concept, how our team arrived at that concept, problems with the project, and most importantly how the group planned to overcome those problems.

Group 13 Design for Manufacture

Covered in this report is the necessary steps on how to recreate this project, and how it was produced.

Group 13 Mini-Poster

In this poster, a brief overview was given to display the major tasks given with this project. It also covers the decisions that the group made to successfully completed the project.

Group 13 Poster

This poster covers all of the components of the machine that was constructed, it also discusses the requirements of the project, and how they relate to the importance of the machine.

Group 13 Tabletop Torsion Device Operation Manual

This document discusses how to set up the torsion device, and how to properly run a test.

Group 13 Final Report

This deliverable is the final thoughts on the project, consisting of all major components of the other reports.
