Final Design Outlook

Side View of Airplane

A side view of the assembled airplane with wing section removed

Microjet Close-up

1/8" square brass tubing with 400 µm jets spaced 5 mm apart

Fuselage Section 1 of 4

Regulator, brass (centered); supply lines, clear plastic (x2)

Fuselage Section 2 of 4

Remotely operated valves, acryllic; Supply lines from regulator on right; lines on the left
will go to the pressure manifolds in the wing

Fuselage Section 3 of 4

Batteries, black and white (x2); valves are also seen on the right

Fuselage Section 4 of 4

Servos, black (x2), had to be moved further back for the tank to fit inside the plane

Compressed N2 tank

The tank fits inside the fuselage and is protected by foam (not seen) and a shielding that is
secured to the fuselage

Quick Connect Fitting

Quick connect on the tank for filling. A 3000 psi line is used to fill the tank; a full fill
will give 30 seconds of run time

Wing Covering 1 of 2

The wing being covered with monokote and a covering iron

Wing Covering 2 of 2

Another view of the covering process

Tufts on the test section

Tufts will be used for flow visualization during flight. This is our test section with tufts
and 3 arrays of microjets
