Background:

An autophagous battery pack is an electric energy source consisting of an anode and cathode material. This galvanic couple produces an electric current when submerged in an electrolyte. The energy produced can be conditioned and stored to power a load. In Figure 1 a simple demonstration of a galvanic couple is shown.

Figure 1. Galvanic Couple

In Figure 1, the relationship between a galvanic couple and the electrical path is shown while immersed in an electrolyte. The electrolyte serves as the ionic path between the two metals, and causes the metals to corrode. The released energy is transported through the electrical path. One can then gather, and store the energy traveling through this path.

Figure 2. Current Between Galvanic Couple

Figure 2 shows how an ammeter will be used to measure the current going through the electric path. A voltmeter will be used to determine the voltage drop through the electric path. From these two readings, the power will be calculated.
