Seven engineering students accepted into FSU's Garnet & Gold Scholar Society

In perhaps the largest single admittance in recent history, seven FAMU-FSU Engineering students were accepted into the prestigious FSU Garnet & Gold Scholar Society at the end of the Spring 2018 term. The students were inducted into the honor society during a special ceremony Thursday, April 26.

Garnet and Gold Scholars

To become an inductee of the Garnet & Gold Scholar Society, students must meet the engagement area criteria and submit a synthesis reflection project in their final semester before graduation. Participants are recognized during graduation and receive a designation on their official university transcript, both of which make the students more marketable to potential employers or graduate programs.

The engineering students and their hometowns are:

  • Kevin Matheus, civil engineering
  • Raine Sagramsingh, mechanical engineering
  • Tia Lilliman, civil engineering
  • Taylor Posey, chemical and biomedical engineering
  • David Perez, civil engineering
  • Jennifer Staub, chemical engineering
  • Luis Blanco, chemical and biomedical engineering
