One of the most important things you do for your students is to show them what’s possible…in your subject…in their lives…and in themselves. That’s why the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and the Challenger Learning Center are inviting you to give your students a learning experience unlike any other through the nation’s premier academic competition, TEAMS.

TEAMS is a popular annual competition, formerly coordinated by Technology Student Association—the national organization promoting engineering and technology to America’s youth—that challenges middle and high school students (grades 6-12) in ways no other program does by introducing them to the practical applications of math and science.  When students compete in TEAMS they learn the answer to that age-old question, “When will I ever use this?” and discover the opportunities that await them in the engineering profession.

Each year students become part of the action as they work together and answer questions about everyday real-world challenges.  What will they tackle in TEAMS 2020? In 2020 students will discover the engineering found in the wild!  Coach a team and watch your students learn first-hand how they can become part of the solution. The competition begins with an essay portion that is completed at the school prior to attending the onsite competition.

The competition at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering will take place March 7, 2020 at the College of Engineering, 2525 Pottsdamer Street, Tallahassee.  The event will start at 8:00 AM and we will conclude by 2:00 PM with an optional opportunity to see a planetarium or IMAX show at the Challenger Learning Center at 3 pm.   Continental breakfast, lunch and movie tickets will be provided.

Register your team online at http://teams.tsaweb.org. The registration fee to participate is $200 for your first team and $150 for any additional teams.

Inspire your students far beyond the classroom by helping them see what’s possible in math and science.  Register your students for TEAMS today at http://teams.tsaweb.org!  I will be your contact for the competition and can be reached by phone (850) 645-7787 and/or email sborland@challengertlh.com.
