Tenure Track Position

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at the joint Florida A&M University (FAMU)-Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a tenured or tenure track faculty position in electrical engineering, in Tallahassee, Florida. We are seeking faculty candidates for an assistant professor position, however, exceptional candidates at high ranks will be considered.

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is the unique combination of two outstanding Universities - the Nation's top Historically Black College/University (HBCU) and a Top 20 Public University. As such we provide an outstanding research and entrepreneurship-based education to one of the most diverse student populations in the US. ECE is a dynamic group of faculty members actively involved in research encompassing various areas of electrical and computer engineering. Faculty have privileges at both institutions including opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues across the many departments, schools, colleges, and centers of the two universities.

Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline, and demonstrate documented potential for outstanding research. Areas of particular interest include RFIC and MMIC Design and Technology (including design and modeling for RF power amplifiers and RF packaging), Applied Electromagnetic Devices, Phased Array Antennas, Beamforming Beam-Steering Circuits and Systems, Wearable Devices, IoT, Transformation Optics, Electromagnetic Cloaking and Metamaterial, Nanoantennas and Nanophotonics. Successful candidates should be active in several of these areas and are expected to develop research programs that are internationally-recognized with significant and sustained funding, incorporate interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across campus, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in education. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising and mentoring undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral researchers is expected.
