Educational Philosophy

Teaching is my passion. This passion is evident in my enthusiasm in the classroom, and is contagious to my students. My teaching philosophy centers on the importance of engagement and accountability in the student-teacher relationship. I encourage my students and guide them in the acquisition of core knowledge. However mastering the basics is not enough, I challenge my students' curiosity and inspire them to extend themselves to explore and excel beyond the basic curriculum.

In my teaching, I emphasize developing the technical communication skills my students will need for their engineering knowledge to have a broader impact in their professional careers. My commitment to lifelong learning has perfect symmetry with my commitment to lifelong teaching. I continuously learn from the experiences and learning outcomes of my students, and I strive to understand the pitfalls and enlightenments of the subject matter so that I can become a more effective instructor.
