Dr. Cezary Bojanowski

Dr. Cezary Bojanowski holds his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Warsaw University
of Technology in Poland. He obtained his Ph.D. degree at the Florida A & M University
- Florida State University (FAMU-FSU) joint College of Engineering in May 2009. Cezary has been working
at CIAL since 2006 as a Research Assistant on three projects:
(1) Passenger Safety In Paratransit Buses
(2) Crashworthiness Assessment Of Paratransit Buses
(3) Assessment of Actual Impact Factors for Florida Bridges
He is experienced in: LS-DYNA, LS-OPT, Hypermesh, TrueGrid, ABAQUS, and other FEM related programs as well.
Cezary currently is working at Argonne National Laboratory at Transportation Research and Analysis Computing Center

Peter Szurgott

Peter Szurgott is a doctoral student at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw.
He obtained his MS degree in Mechanics and Machinery Design at the Warsaw University of Technology
in 2002. He has been working at CIAL since October 2007 as a Research Assistant on project titled
Assessment of Actual Impact Factors for Florida Bridges conducted in cooperation with Florida
Department of Transportation.

Dr. Hongyi Li
Post Doctoral Research Associate

Dr. Li jointed the CIAL lab in August, 2001. He participated in several projects sponsored by the FDOT. After earning his
Ph.D. degree from Florida State University in 2005, Dr. Li worked here as a Post Doctoral Research Associate. Till summer
2007 he was working on the project titled "Dynamic loading of bridges due to approach depression".

Chris Cichocki, Ph.D.

Krzysztof (Chris) Cichocki received his BS and MS degrees Civil Engineering in 1979 from Koszalin Technical University in 1989. He was a leading researcher involved in the following two projects at CIAL:
(1) Vehicle trajectories when traversing FDOT street curbs, and
(2) Crash and safety assessment of a Champion paratransit bus.
Chris' current employer is the Technical University of Koszalin where he works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Andrzej Morka, Ph.D.

Andrzej (Andrew) Morka received his BS and MS degrees in Applied Physics in 1995 from Military University of Technology
in Warsaw (POLAND). He was a leading researcher involved in the following two projects at CIAL:
(1) Energy Absorbing Armor Mounting System for Light-Weight Army Vehicles, and
(2) Progressive Collapse Methodology Development.
Andrew's current employer is the Military University of Technology where he works as an Research Assistant in the
Department of Mechanics & Applied Computer Science. He is expected to receive his Ph.D. degree in summer 2007.

Jerzy Malachowski, Ph.D.
Post Doctoral Research Associate

Jerzy (George) Malachowski graduated with his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Military University of Technology
(MUT) in 1993. He also earned his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering (computational mechanics) at the MUT in 2001. He was a
co-leading researcher involved in the project at CIAL:
Analytical and experimental evaluation of existing Florida DOT bridges
George' current employer is the Military University of Technology where he works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanics &
Applied Computer Science.

Alfred Nkunga
Master Student in Civil Engineering
|
Alfred Utatala Nkunga received his BS degree from University of Dar es salaam, in Dar es salaam, Tanzania and MS degree from Florida State
University in Tallahassee, FL. He was a graduate research assistant involved in a project sponsored by Florida Department of Transportation
(FDOT) titled Vehicle trajectories when traversing FDOT street curbs. Currently, Alfred works for American Buildings Company as a design engineer.

Rafal Wuttrich
Master Student in Civil Engineering

Rafal Wuttrich graduated from Technical University of Gdansk, Poland in
1994. He worked at CIAL from January 1998 to July 2001 on following
projects funded by Florida DOT:
(1) Vehicle trajectories resulting from traversing FDOT curbs.
(2) Investigation of Bridge Fenders for Bridge Impact.
(3) Structural Modifications of Existing BCT terminals.
He graduated from Florida State University in Summer 2001 with Master of
Science. Rafal is currently employed by E.C. Driver and Associates in Tampa FL as bridge engineer.
