And the winners are…
We'd like to thank Faculty, staff and students who volunteered to setup and break down at the College's open house held Saturday, February 25. And especially those students who put together scientific demonstrations for our visitors. There were at least 650 visitors and a great deal of enthusiasm was generated about engineering and the College.
The quality of the presentations and the excitement and interest they generated was impressive. Student Organization's demos were eligible for prizes based on the visiting public voting on the winners by depositing their entrance tickets at their favorite demonstration table.
The competition was fierce. And the winners were:
|Title of Activity||Contact Name||Name of organization||Prize|
|Bridge and 3D Printing Demos||Joshua Degraff||SAMPE||FIRST ($500)|
|Innovation Raceway||Rachael Rosko||Society of Automotive Engineers||SECOND ($300)|
|Laser Chanllenge||Andres Nodarse||American Society of Mechanical Engineers||THIRD ($200)|
There were three other highly-praised activities that would have been in the winner's circle, but were not eligible for cash prizes since they were department produced:
|Title of Activity||Contact Name||Name of organization|
|Autonomous robot for Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition||Dr. Nikhil Gupta||Mechanical Engineering|
|"Slimification" Project||Dr. Kimberly Hunter||Chemical and Biomedical Engineering|
|Electromagnetic Demonstrations||Dr. Rajendra Arora||Electrical & Computer Engineering|
Thanks to all who made this day a tremendous success!
