The gear boxes are on either side of the rollers encased in the yellow frames. The machinery involved in positioning the rollers is encased inside the blue frames. The safety features are painted red, and the overhanging safety feature will be where the gap measurement device is installed.

The tray underneath the roller will likely hold a bright color that will provide good contrast with the metallic rollers.

Looking down on reflective rollers

The rollers are polished, which is an apparent challenge for a laser-based system.

Camera Experimentation

Experimentation was performed with a DSLR camera to test if the gap could be photographed and enlarged on screen.

Sensor Experimentation

The Keyence sensor is pictured on the left. It was placed into a simple breadboard circuit to attain the necessary voltage measurements.
